The “Forest of Enchantment Tarot” by Lunaea Weatherstone and illustrated by Meraylah Allwood is a fairytale-inspired tarot deck with pagan and green witchcraft influences. This borderless deck measures 2.5” X 4.5” which perfectly showcases the images in their magical environment. The card stock is light with ease for shuffling and has a semi-gloss finish to it. The colors are vivid and create depth in each image. The earthy color palettes are vivid and create depth in each image. The back of the cards are reversible and feature two owls perched on tree branches set against a moonlit twinkling sky.

The full-color guidebook entitled “Your Path Through The Enchanted Forest” is a 228 page guide giving a one-page overview of each card. In the back of the book, are Tarot Journal pages to place your interpretations. And to point out, the elements, the court cards, and the major arcana have been renamed: Spells (Wands), Visions (Cups), Challenges (Swords), and Boons (Pentacles). Major arcana: The Enchanter (Magician), Green Mother (Empress), and the Forest Lord (Emperor) are a few examples. Court cards: Child (Pages), Seeker (Knight), Weaver (Queen), and the Keeper (King).

As beautiful as all of these images are from this deck, I decided to be selective and share a few favorites from the major and minor arcana. The “Weaver of Challenges” is one of trials and restrictions that need to be overcome through intelligence and sharp wit. She represents intellectual growth through personal challenges. The “Enchanter’s Wheel” (Wheel of Fortune) is a “spell weaving” card that corresponds from the creation of “The Enchanter” (The Magician). It shows the natural elements of life/death and the complex changes of the unknown. The “Eight of Challenges” is a painful reminder of denial and the entrapment of one’s thoughts. A woman is seen scratched and worn down by a labyrinth of thorns. A card of struggle and strife.

Overall, the “Forest of Enchantment” tarot holds plenty of earthy magic and insightful lessons while exploring this magical forest. Hands down, this will be my Winter/Yule deck of which I will consecrate for Yule next weekend! I HIGHLY recommend this deck to those who have a deep infinity to earth magic and strong ties to nature. You will immediately feel this when working with this deck.
This deck is published through Llewellyn Books.
