AQUARIUS CHARACTER BACKGROUND: Ruled by the planet qualities of Uranus (which governs self-expression, rebellion, and sudden changes) and secondary to Saturn (which influences tradition, peace, and order). Aquarian qualities are those of progressive thinking and innovation. Their duality nature is masculine and its natural element is air. The “Water Bearer is the ruling symbol that incorporates the elements of air through “spiritual creation”, and water as the “giver of life”. It is the third and last Fixed air sign of the astrological cycle. The Aquarius “♒️” glyph symbol shows rippled lines representing kinetic movement, visionary thinking, and intuitive knowledge.

TAROT CARD: The Star (17). This card represents the revealing of one’s authentic ‘Self. Through self- love, faith, and understanding, there is a connection to the spiritual Universe; you are finding inspiration and your own sense of existence. It is this personal “self-discovery” of living by your own beliefs and being open-minded, that the liberation of the soul is experienced. After a period of trials and tribulations, you now have a renewed perspective on life. You are wanting to raise the consciousness of humankind and doing what it takes for its betterment. The Star is known as the “humanitarian”.

SEASON OF INFLUENCE: The month of Aquarius runs January 20th-February 18th. The season it influences is late Winter. It is the time of “Imbolc” (February 1st/2nd); the Wiccan sabbat which commemorates the first light of the late winter season. Rituals of purification and inspiration are prevalent during the Imbolc celebration.

LIFE PATH NUMBER: “9”, represents the idealistic and visionary minds of “nine” individuals. They are humanitarians by nature and searching for the “greater good of all”. Utilitarianism is their philosophy. They want to achieve the higher aspects of all things. Egocentric in their beliefs, their steadfast actions can overshadow those who they are interacting with. They are highly intellectual achievers and are exceptional in the advancement of science and technology.

DAY OF THE WEEK: Saturday (ruled by Saturn). A day for completing goals, business matters, and focussing on personal freedom. Saturn exemplifies these actions in the realm of self-motivation and disciplined knowledge

COLOR INFLUENCE: Bright Blues and turquoise. These colors represent vitality and new beginnings. And a connection to celestial knowledge.

PERSONALITY: “I KNOW” – Aquarians are the “foreseers” of the astrological cycle. Because of their visionary perspectives, Aquarians have a unique “revolutionary insight” of their ideas and initiates these concepts into reality. They are the “non-conformists” that will go against the “norm” and awaken the consciousness in others. Their ambition is to do something of great importance and meaning to create a long term influence.

OPPOSING TRAITS: Aquarians can be emotionally disconnected and at times intrusive in their own importance. They hold strong opinions and can be inflexible toward others’ opinions. When easily bored, Aquarians search for the next intellectual challenge.

RULING BODY: The circulatory (blood and nervous) system, shins, and ankles. Prone to sprains, disorders of the nerves, and heart/blood circulation issues. Because of the Aquarians excitable nature, it is best for them to meditate, exercise, and rest to allow their nervous system to rebalance and recharge. A regular intake of B-vitamins and Omega 3’s will maintain their nervous system.

ASTROLOGY’S ELEVENTH HOUSE:  In Astrology, Aquarius rules the Eleventh House of  “Friendship and Social Interaction”. The Eleventh house represents how you interact with people and what groups or individuals you are involved with. Being surrounded by like-minded individuals who express themselves through similar ideas and perspectives is key within this house.

PARTNER AND POLAR TAROT CARDS: The partner card to Aquarius’ The Star (17) is  The Fool (0).  The Fool which is ruled by the planet Uranus (representing goals, revelations, and motivation) is the ideal companion for the Star card as The Fool is the initiator of self-exploration and innocence. The free-spirited nature of The Fool will soon discover the challenges that will arise when venturing on a new journey. The guidance for self-discipline will be needed.
The Star influences The Fool later on its journey as The Fool will have experienced the trials and tribulations that are needed to spiritually and emotionally mature. There is a greater awareness of the inner Self once the Fool connects to The Star’s energy at this point of self-discovery. A sense of faith, hope, and inspiration will have been instilled.
A question to ask yourself is “what am I now inspiring towards”?

The opposing (polar) card to The Star is Strength (8).  Strength is ruled by Leo (Fixed Fire) and the Sun (representing vitality, happiness, and the ego). The Strength card is one of taking control and having courage while facing difficult challenges. This card represents the willpower of love through thick or thin and is one of having persistence and courage in all that it does. Strength holds a great passion for what it most desires. The Star card is the initiator; one of idealism and humanitarian efforts, while the Strength card is the ignitor; actively impassioned towards one’s desires.

The Fool and The Strength cards are different in their perspectives towards its influence of the Star card. The Fool is optimistic and is putting trust in the universe when first exploring new experiences. It is open to all that is being offered, but spiritual guidance and disciplined choices will be needed for gaining self- knowledge, and understanding.
The Strength card is the internal power used to maintain that which you most desire. You have gained spiritual insight from past challenges and are now motivated through your instincts and one’s true heart desires.
