Recently, I received this out of print deck by Jean Herzel as a gift, and I have been COMPLETELY enamored with it! The artwork is simply beautiful which allows all the images to creatively speak to the reader. The colors are vibrant which sets the energy of this deck within all of its elements.
The arcanum is represented by influences of nature through plants, crystals, and various species of flowers/trees and small creatures. The guidebook is informative by explaining the meaning and relationship of these influences when placed in the major and minor arcana.

There are many unique points with this deck:
• The colorful energy of the images to further add to their interpretation and their connection.
• The “human being” has been replaced through the representation of nature elements.
• The size of the cards are 4”x 7”!
Yes they are very large! Readers will have to be very creative with shuffling, but that’s something of little concern when it comes to this deck. The large size of the images makes connecting with each image a very unique experience.
• The cardstock is on the lighter side which is fine for working with a large deck. No aggressive shuffling is possible. The print quality is excellent and shows every detail in each image. For me, this is a jewel of a tarot deck for me in quality, images, and energy.
Overall, I feel this deck is going to further the connection I already have with nature. There is a gentle, and yet an empowering, influence that I feel readers who are working with nature energies and animal spirit work would thoroughly enjoy.
The GREAT news! The “Nature Spirit Tarot” is set to be re-released in early 2021 in a new standard size format.
