I’m truly excited about this “non-traditional” tarot deck beautifully created by Ravynne Phelan . I stumbled upon this deck after viewing a few YouTube reviews. @thetruthinstory sold me on the deck. Thank you so much, Kelly!

“Dreams of Gaia” has its own methodology when doing readings and interpretations. There are a total of 81 cards in this deck with the major arcana having 25 cards and the minor arcana having 52 cards. The Major Arcana has four archetypal representations: “The Choices”, “Stages of Life”, “Reasons for Being”, and “Influences”. The Minor Arcana follows the elemental influences (Water, Earth, Fire, and Air) as it represents an individual life’s experiences.⠀

“To Seek, To Feel, To Grow, and To Heal” is the philosophy behind the “Dreams of Gaia”. I feel this is very apparent within the deck and will be the one for me to use for healing, chakra, and conscious/subconscious work. Personally, this is a very deep cosmic deck for me.

The “Dreams of Gaia” is a unique blend of the tarot and oracle all in one. A wonderful experience in learning a different method of tarot interpretation and energy work. If anyone is working with this deck, I would love to get your feedback. The pocket-size is actually quite perfect for me to work with, but I also enjoy the large size format of the standard edition which comes with an excellent guidebook of working through this specific arcanum system.

There is a difference in the cardstock and in the design of both versions of these decks. The “pocket edition” is all matte and has a thicker cardstock; about 300-350 gsm. Perfect durable cardstock to shuffle these smaller cards which measure 3.5 x 2 x 4.2 inches. The other plus is that this edition is borderless. The standard edition measures 3.5 x 5 inches and has a glossy finish to it. The thin gold border that surrounds the images are not at all distracting for me. Color wise, there is barely a variation between the glossy and matte finish editions. If anything, probably a “soft satin” look to the images in the matte edition.

I’m beginning to explore more “non traditional” tarot reading systems which has been an exciting way to take ones practice to shift and expand it in other perspectives. The “Dreams of Gaia” is one of these decks!
