Working with the Wheel of the Year sabbats, this Beltane reading will shed light on the bridge between Ostara (Spring Equinox) and Litha (Summer Solstice). This reading is named the “Bridge of Beltane” to usher in the expansive energies of the Spring season and to welcome in the apex of the sun’s powerful energy of Litha (Summer Solstice).
Beltane is a “greater sabbat” which transitions between the cross quarter (“lesser sabbats”) of Ostara and Litha.
During this time of Beltane, we are being driven by our heart’s desire. It is a time of creative expression, abundance, and nurturing.
The days continue to grow longer in the Northern Hemisphere (shorter days in the Southern Hemisphere as Samhain is being welcomed) we can use the vitality of the sun’s fiery energy as a means of healing.
In the Southern Hemisphere, the sabbat of Samhain is the time when the thinning veil has dissolved between the realms of the living and the otherworld for us to communicate with our ancestors of influence (whether human or animal). This is a way to pay homage and to seek the guidance of those who have passed into the next realm. The energy of Samhain is one of introspection as we journey into the deeper realm of the subconscious; that which is hidden and unseen. Ancestral spirits can provide insight to those who are still amongst the living.
Beltane is all outward energy. How we express ourselves through the actions of healing, love, and creativity.
Purging is one of the actions to take place when connecting to the forces of fire. One can purge away stagnant energies, old ways of the past, etc., to create space to reflect and to heal. In turn, an individual manifests what is needed to empower their soul. This is the action of the Self being inspired and driven by their own desires.
Beltane Reading:
“Gaia” (Mother Earth) is the feminine force during this Beltane season. An energy that is earth inspired and filled with compassion and healing. This is Venus exemplified in the form of all things Mother Nature and is guided by the environment that we are living in. Gaia represent all four elements that our environment is created of Fire, Air, Earth, and Water. Sadly, we have left the current presence of our planet in a depleted state which has left these natural elements to become toxic instead of nurturing. As living beings, many have lost the care and nurturing value of our home planet. In a sense, the way Earth has been maintained is a reflection of the human ego. Selfish and destructive. As beautiful the image of Gaia is depicted in this card, we need to remember the importance of self value and outwardly directing this into things that can produce abundance and well being.
“Green Woman” + “Hooded Man” + “Seven of Bows”:
The “Hooded Man” (aka The Hermit) is the centerpiece of this reading which is being supported through the guidance of the “Green Woman” and the “Seven of Bows”. These three cards are about creating space, soul searching, release, manifestation. We are at a place within where building a fulfilling relationship (either with others or ourselves) is of great importance and growth. This experience is one that is bountiful.
But to get to this place, the ‘Self needs to search within and utilize its own inner light to find what is needed for self fulfillment.
The journey is on going as there are times where the soul “thinks” is has attained a spiritual awakening, but only to find out this is part of the growing process. It is important to know not to have any expectations based on experiences. Be expansive with the heart and mind. Release any thoughts or feelings of anticipation and allow whatever comes to you as lessons to gain and to expand from.
Use the outward energies of Beltane to reveal what has been manifested within. This revelation of the “new Self” can be inspiring to others.
