OSTARA SPRING EQUINOX “WHEEL OF THE YEAR” READING MARCH 20, 2023

The focus for this meditative reading is on the energies for the upcoming Spring months of April (Aries) early Spring, May (Taurus) mid Spring, and June (Gemini) late Spring. For this season, I chose the decks of the “Wildwood Tarot” by Mark Ryan + John Matthews and the “Witches Oracle” by Sally Morningstar as counsel guides to usher in Ostara and the Spring Equinox energies.
I used the Witches Oracle as the key action for each month and the Wildwood Tarot as the directive path for that month.

For the month of April/Aries, we slowly rise from the contractive winter energies into the expansive Spring forces of inspiration and manifestation.

“The Moon” is the revealing force of our hidden desires and fears. In its fullest phase we see what has been manifested from its darkest phase and to now take action with what has been revealed. The intuitive energy is strong at this time and it is best to work with these inspiring energies that are encouraging you to move ahead. While doing so, be wise of the choices that are being made in these actions. This is the greatest benefit to your higher Self.

3 of Stones” and “9 of Arrows” are the directive guides for the month of April/Aries. The fiery energy of Aries sets the tone to fully connect with your creative powers and to set a commitment in achieving your goals. Trust in the powers around you to set the path that you are best to explore.

3 of Stones” shows how we can be inspired and recharged with creative energy by connecting with nature. This is the time of rooting and reenergizing and experiencing a new way of working with these energies. Keep your intentions clear to deepen this experience and to activate the higher forces towards your goal.

9 of Arrows” is the continuation of the “3 of Stones” through the commitment in achieving your directed goal. For me, I have to emphasis that this card seems to show a lack of direction with the arrows aimlessly being sent out. Clearly set your intentions so that these arrows have a purpose toward any achievement that you are working towards. In doing so, you are manifesting the creative root work found in the
3 of Stones” and forming it into a conscious action.

Creative Connection, Revelation, and Commitment will be the key actions for the month of April.

For the month of May/Taurus, our mid Spring journey is experiencing an outburst of growth and abundance. It is a time to show the outcome of your achievements. This shines through from your actions and how you nurture the powers that placed you on the direct path of success.

The Green Man” guides us to maintain and to hold respect to the energies that have led us toward a successful outcome.
Self empowerment and personal security are gained when working with the forces of nature and utilizing this to the greatest good of one’s achievement. The snake wrapped around the “great orphic egg” is the protector of this life force within us. This energy needs to be nurtured and guarded for our own well being.

The “6 of Stones” and “The Shaman” show different scenarios of how can be afflicted due to negligence, but can also rise above by taking responsibility and control over matters. Ask yourself, what is the best approach in remedying a situation?

The “6 of Stones” shows an environment where resources were either improperly maintained or misused. The lack of responsibility has resulted in an impoverished landscape where little remains of any sustenance to salvage these individuals survival. This scene shows the reversed energy of the “Green Man” who represents strength through resources. Take a moment to reflect on what went amiss or turned you away from your responsibilities.

The Shaman” can be seen as the spiritual counsel to the Green Man’s relationship to growth and abundance. The hardship that is being experienced in the 6 of Stones could have been prevented if respect and knowledge was the primary focus. The Shaman is the master in conjuring forces to heal and to empower the environment and those within and outside of it. Call upon the Shaman for gaining insight and manifesting strength from a challenging environment.

Nurturing growth, respecting available resources, and taking charge of personal responsibilities are the key actions for the month of May.

For the month of June/Gemini, the tail end of Spring has us experiencing the culminating result of our seasonal journey.
There is a sense of communication, but at a higher level. It’s a time of camaraderie with those who we share a close bond to. This can come through work or personal relationships. There is an exchange of experience and knowledge that is to be gained from this close connection.

The Cone of Power” involves cosmic energy coming from its highest source to send out to those in need, for protection, creativity, etc. I view the “Cone of Power” as the four elemental sources (Air, Fire, Water, Earth) being sent out to shift the universal energy that is occurring around a situation. This vibration ripples outward to influence what is, or will be, taking place.
As a source of “white light” and Crown chakra energy, the “Cone of Power” is manifested through infinite channels to create a positive experience.

“8 of Bows” and “8 of Stones”
intrinsically connect through the power of community and knowledge. There is much to gain from those who inspire and motivate us through the course of time. It is this experience that one can apply to their own skill set to deepen one’s own connection to the ‘Self.

“8 of Bows” shows the harmonic exchange of joy and experiences through kindred soulmates. The relationship of these souls is one of support and harmony. They are like minded in many ways and hold great respect, understanding, and love toward each other.
The hearth’s fire is what draws this heartfelt connection. It warms and fuels the desires of these kindred souls.

“8 of Stones” shows the deepening of skills to connect with the inner Self. Mastering a skill takes patience, endurance, and dedication. In this process, one discovers the personal challenges and growths that can come through such an experience. The handprint on the wall is the reminder of previous legacies and that you can master your craft through your own personal commitment.

Higher levels of Communication, Soul Connections, and deepening one’s skillset are key actions for the month of June.
