“The Emperor” (ARIES) – The “Architect of the Universe and his desire for structure”. This is Meleen’s description for this inspiring fiery archetype…and I could not agree more! The Emperor has been depicted as an authority figure, sitting on his throne and prepared to take charge on any action. But THIS Emperor is illustrated in a contemplative seated position and using the precision tools of the square and the red eagle eyed compass as guides for strategic planning. Alchemically, the Emperor is of the Sulphur element that ignites inspiration into action The Empress’ beehive is this inspiring resource for the Emperor. With the two sun symbols above him, these solar influences further fuel his direction towards victory by creating order from conflict. This work of the Emperor is quick and precise so that there is a successful base to build upon. It is this foundation that the Emperor’s legacy is built upon for those to continue onward.
“Two of Wands” (Mars) – The suit of Wands is about the “Will” of the soul. Its true essence of inspiration and to take action. Within the Two of Wands, there is a strong initial force of power and leadership that has been created. The presence of the double headed red eagle, the crossed crook and flail, the Mars symbol, and the crossed orb are just a few of the symbols that shows the readiness to take authority, but with a set purpose to succeed. The “Blue War Crown of Mars” is worn to signify the imperial power over that which is being ruled.
“Three of Wands” (Sun) – Here is the “Lord of Virtue” in all of its glory! The Sun’s influence shows the manifestation of the Emperor formed. The crossed crook and flail are now two pine cones (sun infused) wands aflame, and the centered Caduceus is crowned with the ram’s horns signifying force and victory. The “Three of Wands” is placed in the sephira of Binah (feminine force) where the life force of masculine strength is being established and a new cycle of growth begins.
“Four of Wands” (Venus ) – A continuation from the “Three of Wands”, this is where the meeting of the heart and mind of the Emperor and Empress finalize their creative partnership. The “Four of Wands” is in the “manifestation and realization” of the sephira of Chesed. The square and compass are mirrored through the guidance of the lunar Bee (feminine) and the solar Eagle (masculine). These combined forces of strength, wisdom and fertility are directed to the higher cosmos through well defined actions. The end result is the “completion” of a great work that is for the greater good of the Universe.
