“THE LOVERS” (GEMINI) Alchemical (mutable) energy as it’s being experienced. The conjunction of opposite (primal) energies (Emperor (red lion) /Empress (white eagle) being part of the alchemical stages of the dissolution and renewing of the soul(s). I feel the Lovers represent a dedication and choice to (re)combine their souls. The orphic egg is now in a *personified state* as the “bringer of light”, in a sense an altered (spiritual) state of mind. Meleen refers to this persona as a “young Hermit” (Virgo/Mercury ruled) which may explain the mauve colored rays of light emanating from the egg. The Lovers are the vibrational shapeshifting forces that we will see in the 8-10 of Swords and how their energetic forms are transformed.
“8 of Swords” (Jupiter) Conjoined forces that are now separated from their union. The Hod placement of Jupiter in Gemini weakens the discretion of the solar amd lunar energies of the primal formed Lovers. An external “interference” has entered their realm and these now seperated forces are not seeing how to (re)solve their own dilemma. The lack of clarity has now caused a misdirection of thought that is not directing the thread of fate in their favor.
“9 of Swords” (Mars) For the mind, this is the hardest of the hard. The aggressive nature of this card is showing how a mental conflict wasn’t remedied and has now transformed into a frightening entity of one’s darkest mind. The multiple swords in the cracked stones and the lion/eagle hilt is showing the ending of this painful energy by pushing the force downward to its demise. A form of a final soul surrender. The lion/ eagle are the guidance of wisdom and strength to move from this energy.
“10 of Swords” (Sun) Release. Choices have been made to shift our old ways of thinking into a new direction. I have now envisioned the 10 of Swords in a new way. I see the Lovers as being the metaphor of impaled orphic egg. Remember the alchemical process of the Lovers from Calcination to Fermentation and recycling through these processes many times over will create a higher metamorphic form of the Lovers. It is time for letting go and to move into a new realm of growth. I like what Erica said about the “dark fertile soil” as the environment to show a potential for regrowth.
IN CONCLUSION:
As challenging as the suit of Swords may or may not be, what I’m now *seeing* through the TMT is that there is a need to finesse the (im)balance of what we are experiencing at any given moment, whether good/bad. *Blindfolding* ourselves to assess a situation allows for a focussed conversation between what we are feeling and thinking. I feel this form of internal speaking and listening allows for a more balanced (inner) relationship that over time can instill trust in one’s own choices which they can create definitive actions from.
